it should be there tomorro

if its in the post office today then it should be there tommorrow

Possibly tomorrow, but don't count on it!

If its before the last collection from the post office it will most likely arrive tomorrow (although knowing royal mail next week is possible).

Our post office shuts at 5 but last collection is 4.30 :x

1st class is overrated anyway even with 2nd class it still gets there as quick in 99% of cases. Until 1968 there was only one class of mail, they then introduced "2nd class" allowing them to raise the price of 1st class and added a phosphur strip to the stamps to differentiate between 1st/2nd they also had seperate post boxes for 1st/2nd class which are no longer installed as replacements, additionaly to help with this special machines where commisioned which proved costly and more time consuming in man hours, they no longer use the machines and the post often gets mixed going out together. The only time post is actively seperated is when a company has mail shots delivered via normal post they will use 2nd class (and also get a bulk rate discount).

1st class is more of psycholical thing these days when mailing items to customers, it simply looks better and more professional.

It should be with you tomorrow, it just depends on when the last collection is.

also depends on distance to some extent

it should do if you post it before the last pick up from the that post office but its not a guarantee that it will arrive the next day

Now if you had said this in the first post then people would be able to tell you there are three hopes, no hope, bob hope, and an envelope after all its going to take the postie a while to swim accros the channel :w00t:

i posted parcel at 5.45pm from bucks to tiny island off shetlands - delivered next morning 9.15 - i was impressed - royal mail

Soz but your completely wrong, the phosphor in the stamps is what the machines use to seperate the mail yes but i aint got a clue where u got that stat from about them being too costly to run in manpower ?? takes 1 man to press a button lol. The mail ALWAYS goes thru this machine andthe machine is ALWAYS used lol which mail centre u been working in???? , the only time a 2nd class will be delivered as quick as 1st is if the machine spits it out and then someone just bungs it with the 1st class.

As before it depends on the last collection at the PO. If it's collected today then RM will aim for delivery tomorrow but it's not guaranteed! I'm assuming - as you called it a parcel - it's a packet being posted. Until recently I worked in the PO and in our office 1st and 2nd clas packets were kept separate from all other mail. We had bags for each and they were sealed and labelled before collection. So it does matter what service you use! Also depending on the weight it could be cheaper to use special delivery, which does (in most cases) guarantee next day delivery.
