contact them. its 99% delivery next day with 1st class recorded it says on their site.

so with it being so long theres something going on.

They "Aim" to get it there next day.

There is no guarantee, so you have to wait 2 weeks before you can do anything about it in reality.

I wonder if it was actuall sent out Recorded Delivery!!!! If the seller gave you a tracking code then use it at ]royalmail.com The Bank Holiday weekend probably delayed it too.

Recorded delivery items are not tracked, it will only appear once delivery has been made, and sometimes not even then.

Yep, you are right. You'd think that a delivery company like Royal Mail could track where items are, especially since almost everything is barcoded these days!

No company will track an item for 72p.

Recorded delivery is for the most part a waste of time, it is used mostly by the mis-informed, and people who know about it's worthlessness to send things to the mis-informed.

1 to 15 days. They wont investigate until after 15 days.

Nothing gets delayed that long in the post mate, its 99% next day on 1st class, only thing that would delay it to 2 days would be a carryover in the mail centre where there was too much mail for that day ... happens now and again in ours but quite rare really and would definately be sorted the next day, 3 days is MAX for a normal 1st class item , anything longer and theres a different reason why it aint there

Thesaint - you are right about recorded delivery being used by the misinformed. I am amazed by the number of numpties who will willingly fork out an extra 72p to send stuff such as cards and presents to (trusted) relatives. Why?????

Things do get delayed that long all the time. 99% sounds good, but that is based on millions of items.

There a hundreds of reasons why it may have got delayed, for someone working in a mail centre, you should know better.

They are peddled a myth by other people about recorded Delivery.

Sometimes Post Offices give out misinformation, but it's mostly word of mouth that leads to customers paying for Recorded Delivery that is worthless.

Why?

Because it carries £36 of insurance cover :whistling:

And it is acceptable proof of posting by paypal, unlike a proof of posting form, which is not acceptable.

I am amazed by the number of numpties who will not willingly fork out an extra 72p to cover any ebay items they send out under £36 and over £10 in value.

They can be sent to the wrong city by a sorter in the Sorting Office, they are not addressed properly, they are forgotten in the back of a van, they are accidentally left in a mountain of mail bags, they are stolen by the delivery personnel, delivery is attemptted and a slip is not left etc etc...

Csiman - I was referring to people who send stuff recorded delivery to trusted relatives (completely pointless) - not ebay - which should always be sent RD. Also ordinary 1st class mail covers £36 insurance with just a free cert of posting.

Because it carries £36 of insurance cover

As LJM saysall 1st and 2nd class mail is insured to the same amount as recorded with proof of postage so recorded gives you nothing as most post people just post recorded items through your letter box anyway.

no way of knowing but it hasn't arrived after 2 weeks the sender can claim the loss from royal mail and give you a refund as long as they got proof of postage

My friend post me my two passport and national id 1st class recorded delivery on 8th June today is 21 June. I am well worried about it.
Bcoz i am international student. I going to take my IELTS exam. I can't take that exam without passport.
