royal mail signed for

i posted an item last week tuesday and been tracking it and it still says processing through the system, anyway the item has arrived but royal mail obviously didnt get them to sign for it, therefore i was thinking of claiming item lost in post as royalmail wont know its been delivered. its annoying as ive paid for recorded and not got the service.

Aren't they in turn scamming the OP by charging for a service and then failing to provide it?

I'll be honest and say I would do as they OP suggests, our postie never used to get signatures on Recorded deliverys and just put them either by the door or through the letterbox, I made many complaints about this as did the neighbors yet nothing was ever done, the postie has since retired so signatures are needed now. At the end of the day they was aware of this yet didn't bother to sort it out. So (IMO) deserve taking for a ride.

I've considered this myself. I'm always getting the signed for stuff just pushed through the letterbox - when I'm IN!!! Not getting the service you've paid for. BUT you'll probably get the postie sacked...

yeh ive had signed for sent to me and they left it on my postbox!!!!!! i often felt like saying i didnt have it just to stop em doing it.

postal worker is NOT the Royal Mail

what was the item?

That's fraud......... Just ring their cs and say that the item was paid as recorded but not signed for. Ask for a refund.

Hardly the point !

I reguarly get recorded signed for stuff just chucked over my back gate, the latest being a 1.5tb internal harddrive that must been in the snow all weeken cause we did'nt know it was there.

Anyway although it is fraud i would be very tempted to put a claim in, isn't it also fraud by royal mail for charging for a service the didnt provide?????

this happened to me before xmas they just pushed an item through my door which was an expensive computer thing for my partners laptop. i think they just cant be bothered standing abount in the cold waiting for you to answer the door or writing out a form left.

isnt the postman trying to help and saving dragging you do to the depo to sign for it there....................

If you defraud a customer at your place of work it's the employer that would get sued as well as you,

Hi,

Thanks for this great idea. My post office never get me to sign recorded items, guess i will get around 10 items sent to me per week before they clock on. Cheers around 300 a week, a little bit of hassle, but who cares as i paid for that Service!

Some People, Eh

But they are acting as their agent and carry full responsibilty for providing the service you have paid for.

Its like saying a kwik fit fitter fitted a budget tyre when you paid for premium and then claiming its not kwik fits responsibilty that you got stiffed.

in away but hes not doing the person who posted it any favours as the reciever can then say they didnt get the item, im just lucky the person who i posted to said they had got it. otherwise they would of been claiming money back from me.

I have had this also and it is a bit of a grrr moment especially when people pay extra just to make sure it gets to you but its like the sainsbury's thread this morning, all employees are different, some rotate stock so you dont find ood stuff others dont, some postie's do a superb job others are on the news when they are found with a car and house full of undelivered mail, unfairly claiming will only add to the burden on the system, if the postie is absentminded because of the pressure of his route how much better will he work when he does not get a pay rise due to costs (like yours) no ones infallable, just saying, we need to chill slightly

Why not get them to refund the recorded part of the postage which is the part of the service you did not get, instead of fraudulently claiming it never arrived, could bite you on the bum, if the system is slow to update which it is sometimes and somebody did sign for it and just forgot.

if i did claim i wouldnt do it yet as its to early, i probably wont do as its to much bother, but its annoying when the postie does this, especially when its an ebay item as there are enough scammers on there already trying to get the money back claiming they never got the item

i would rather not go to the delivery office, but instead of putting it through the door they could leave it with a neighbour who could sign for it.

Or you could look at it on the other hand and say he's being lazy.
harshly thpough if he's not doing his jon properly then he shouldn't be there IMO. My friends postie just signs it for him and pushes it through.....

So if you know it was definately not signed for. complain and get the … So if you know it was definately not signed for. complain and get the refund of the recorded signed for which is the service you paid for and did not get. You paid for the item to be deliverd and it WAS the only thing you are down is the 72p for recorded as they have not provided that service to your knowledge, no ifs no buts, what could have happened, that's the fact of the matter. To claim for an item was not received when it was is fraud, and it shows your dishonesty tbh, even thinking about or considering it, and I hope people take this into account if they ever trade with you here. It's dishonest and does not paint you in a good light at all.

i wouldnt sell on here and tbh dont care what people think about me on here,i know im a decent person.forgive me for thinking about doing such a thing but im not the first and wont be last person to think about doing it. and theres plenty of people who have done much worse than this.

Also RM do contact the recipient to confirm non receipt so what you gonna do when they say they have the item and you're telling porkies.

[QUOTE=tinkerbell28;7508208]Obviously not as you sound like a dishonest person who is going to make fraudulent claim with the royal mail for a quick buck, that's also a criminal offence too, all of course ok as you are a "decent person" good work:thumbsup:[/Q

nobodies perfect, i bet youve told a lie or two. and i am a decent person even if a dishonest thought poped into my head.

Btw if theyve received it, it could have been signed for and not updated on the site.

Imagine the boo boo you'll make when they tell you they have the signature

I have a £30 parcel from November still not showing as delivered -- although i KNOW they got a signature.

i was asked a while back by my postie if i would prefer her to sign for my parcels for me and post them/put them over gate and i was fine with that as long as she left me a card telling me so as i live on an area that the trustworthy neighbours are usually at work, i have had something left with a neighbour by courier who couldnt be bothered to leave a note and neighbour who forgot he had the parcel so took over a week for me to get it.

you say that if its not signed the buyer could claim the money off you by saying he not received it but then you would be in the right to claim the money back from R/M but as you know that its been received the only thing you could/should do is complain about not getting your money's worth and claim the extra money back as has been said

hes being paid to do a service which he isnt doing so i dont sympathise with him. posties like these are the cause of people scamming, so if they did there job properly then no one would scam and there wouldnt be so many dishonest people in the world like me.

im not scamming any seller/buyer out of money, thats what im trying to say that if royal mail made sure they got it signed then people on ebay couldnt try and scam the seller, if i did claim i would be scamming royal mail, which i know is dishonest but if the buyer had said she hadnt recieved it then they would be scamming me, it could go round in circles, but thats my thoughts on it.

so break the cycle, if someone else jumped off a cliff would you. *NEWS FLASH* we dont live in a perfect world, dont make it worse.

I love it when the postie drops recorded into my porch when I'm out. Saves bringing I.d,driving into town, finding a space after circling for 20 mins, paying a ridiculous parking charge, queuing for 20 mins as there's only 1 person serving, only to find it's not come back yet love can you come back tomorow even though the red letter said collect after 2pm and it's now 4pm.
It's got to it's destination safe, job done, what's your damn problem?
