Royal Mail Special Delivery Question

Found 6th Sep 2009
Recently I sold a Nokia N97 on eBay and sent it out Special Delivery last Thursday, so should have been received on Friday morning. I've not heard anything off the buyer, but when I go to the track & trace page of the Royal Mail site it says "Your item with reference XXXXXX has been delivered. Sorry, an electronic proof of delivery is not available for this item".

This is worrying me because usually it tells you what delivery office did the delivery and lets you see who has signed for it. Plus with the value of the phone being so high, I want to know it's got there safely. I've emailed the buyer to see if they're happy with the phone, but with no reply from them.

Has this happened to others on here? Is it common that you don't see tracking details having paid £6.70 for Special Delivery?

Cheers

I get it all the time,as long as it shows it was delivered on time, you will be ok,just keep the receipt etc just in case

Sometimes it might take a while to update more info online? Maybe check it tomorrow.

I've been sh**ing myself all weekend because it hasn't changed and the buyer hasn't answered my eBay messages. You start to get the sense that someone might say it hasn't arrived or "I've not signed for it", because it hasn't got an electronic proof on the Royal Mail site.

Cheers for the reassurance guys

RM will have a signature on request anyway, whether it ever shows up online or not.

it will be ok...I hope you still have the funds that had cleared before you posted the item.

In most cases, the buyer may not post a feedback till then have tried the phone..Usually couple of days..

tbh i usually cba leaving feedback either and i dont visit ebay unless i dont recieve the item. I tend to leave feedback liek a week or 2 later.

If there's a problem a buyer will contact you,its never a good idea to email and "hassle" a buyer.

I sometimes don't leave feedback for weeks, not everyone leaves it straight away.
