    Good luck to them both.

The amount of revenue raised from the wedding (albeit private revenue) will far out way any costs.

    Is a good thing!

I didn't think the taxpayer was paying?! Must google more.

Put 2011 in the title it will feel closer

I've only got one bit of advice for Kate............clunk, click, every trip.

    Yay, day off
Don't care about the wedding though.

I wonder what percentage of the working population will actually use the day off to watch the wedding?

Do we really need a day off when one of the Queens grandsons gets married?

Am I right in thinking this is going to be an extra bank holiday? That means that after Easter, the school my son goes to will open for the Thursday 28th, then shut again until the following Tuesday. REALLY IRRITATING. We're going away for Easter, and will have to come back just for that one school day when we could have stayed the whole of the rest of the long weekend. ARGH.

    public holiday, lovely jubbly

I think the fact he is the future king of England is probably more important.

    Cheers William!

Great bank holiday .................... but that just means people in retail will still have to work but bank holiday hours. And, for no extra pay.

I'd like to know how they booked the church and a reception room so close to the wedding, you usuually have to book these sort of thing up to 18 months in advance.

Before people start moaning about how much money the tax payer gives the crown, have a look at the Crown Estate and see how much income the crown bring to this country and the treasury.

How did they get the land?

The same way as the common man did many moons ago.............they laid claim to it. And they are also often buying land (out of their pocket). Next

I'll happily pay. As soon as Charlie abdicate, this is going one way for sure:
The Scots claim independence, then we'll have ten years of turmoil, William and Harry will then ride bare back to the border, the English invade, the Scotts become our pets. Done and dusted.

How did I lose my other 8 toes? Taxes.

That's rich, coming from someone without a job!

    Awesome

Booking 26th, 27th and 28th off as Holiday.

I'm looking forward to this and I'm normally hugely cynical about this sort of thing. I think it will be great for the country both economically and morale boosting in these dark times.

    Totally agree

What people don't seem to realize is not only are the Royal Family great ambassadors for the country, but also generate a massive amount in tourisms..

    independent.co.uk/tra…tml

Just from attractions linked to the Royal Family, they brought in £500 million alone in tourism.. When they cost the tax payer around £40 million a year.. Not a bad deal? That doesn't even include the other visitors they likely attract by creating an interest in Britian.

Otherwise we'd just be some dreary island with bad weather and to many Manchester United supporters, who'd want to go on holiday in a place like that.
