Can you book an online check in with Ryanair then change it to an airport check in iykwim? A few friends and i are going for the day on Tuesday ( 1p flights-thank you HUKD :)) but one of my friends has just told me she doesnt have a passport! I know you have to pay extra (for everyone) but is it possible to change at this late stage?
Tried googling, ryanair website and phoning ryanair but just got kept in a queue for ages

Sorry, im rambling now but if anyone has any advice/ideas/vodka! id be grateful! ..

Have you booked for your friend and she can't go???

I booked for all of us and just (stupidly) assumed that everyone had passports, while she assumed that she'd be ok to travel on her driving licence and it only came up by chance in conversation an hour ago!

Just don't check her in when the time comes, she can go and check in at the counter on her own and meet you after, if she doesn't go at all you will not be penalised, my son had online check in with us and decided not to come so I just online checked the rest of us and he still had the option of going right up to the day but could go to the desk and pay to check in. Doesn't affect your price as long as you continue with your online procedure.

Really? But i thought if one person couldnt do an online check in then none of the party could? Im still hoping theres a way for her to go you see
Thanks for replying and your help btw!

No ,you only tick the boxes of the people who are checking in online, I just left my sons unchecked and I have already travelled so I know it works!!

The B***** didn't go, he wanted to go clubbing with his mates instead.

Thats the thing- i ticked her as checking in online as i assumed she had a passport Thanks for all your help- i really appreciate it-rep left

Are you going in the next few days??

    Tuesday

    So you've got boarding passes?

    Original Poster

No thats how it came up tbh- i phoned her to get the passport details that you need to check in online and print the passes

No you're ok , just check the rest of you in and print their passes and don't do hers, thats exactly what I did. Once she has been checked in,(which she can't on this occassion, coz she doesn't have a passport) then you can't add or change anything on each person who is checked in. If she is not checked in online and she has a change of circumstance I think it is about £8 each way to check in at the desk, but anyone else in the party can still check in online without her. She can also check in seperately online up to 4 hours before the flight.

Thats great- thanks very much for all your help- i reallly appreciate it!

can't stand having to pay more so its good to know the rules, hope you have a nice time!!

You can selectively check in online with FR. If she has to check in at the airport, the charge will be £3 one way. If they do this, and would then like to join you in the Priority Queue for boarding the aircraft, this will be a further £3/way.

Depending on the route, time and day i'd advise paying the extra £3 for the prioirty boarding of the aircraft as if its a busy flight with lots of people with priority yellow slips and online check in boarding passes there is a good chance you will be split up.

The new music is dreadful.. i'm always gunning for my FR flights to land late now

"let's fly, let's fly, let's fly away with ryanair!" LOL

lol- that bad???? Cant wait to hear it now!

The jingle without words played as soon as you enter the aircraft and switched off just before taxi and the safety demonstration. But you also get the "rum! whiskey! vodka! cognac!" and "hello gratis gratuis!" rubbish they play. lol.

And if you land on time or early they play the full song

Went to Dublin for day on weds 16 April-thanks to 1p flights!. Had a great day out and now considering booking for a bit longer if any more cheap flights come along. Just a note that with the current pound to euro rate that everything is expensive- pint of lager/pint of guiness £9.00 in Temple Bar!
