    salt free olives

Does anyone know where I can get reasonably priced olives that aren't cured in brine and have no dodgy additives please?

I seem to be having a bout of Jaundice (which I'll be getting investigated imminently) and can't bear the thought of no treats over christmas.

Any info would be much appreciated

    thanks

Morrisons do some nice fresh ones from their deli (and they list their ingredients too). I like the chili garlic ones, but there are quite a few different flavours.

Your best bet may be a local market if you have one near by or a farm shop?

thx... I'll check that out when I'm next in there... reckon they'll have been cured initially in brine though, even if they have an oil dressing...

thx... local market will only have ones cured in brine, even if hey have an oil dressing... I suspect most farm shops the same... health food shops do do them sometimes... but they are very expensive... I just wondered if anyone knew of a more affordable deal out there

I need to keep my salt intake right down until I can get to the bottom of why I've been poorly

thanks so much for the suggestions though guys... I do appreciate your input

No worries. The link I gave has olives with no salt in. You could always wash the olives or soak them in water a little before rinsing? Not sure if that would help?

You may be right, but it's worth asking. They don't taste particularly salty. Sainsburys also do some really nice bright green olives with stones still in - they are pre-packaged in the cold section and come with little toothpicks for stabbing them. They are quite expensive, but very tasty.

thanks, I'm sorry I didn't spot the link....yep... those were the olives I was looking at on the internet before posting on here... they are actually just about affordable as a treat for christmas... if it wasn't for the £4.49 postage...

I'll have a scoot around the online healthfood shops and see if any stock them... more likely to get a deal on delivery from one of the bigger brands i guess....

thanks... if I can't find anything else... I might ask one of my friends who works in london to pick me some up if she's near borough market as it looks like they have a stall there pays to be cheeky!

Do you have any local deli's? Hope you can find some kind of treat you like and that's suitable.
