    mine wasnt locked

If its on vodafone yes with a vodacode (not free though cost around £10), other networks not as far as I know.

Some ebay sellers have a clip that does the job for about £7. Do a search on samsung clip.

U can unlock it by doing this:
    1. Turn off your phone, put in a SIM

    2. At the wrong card message, type *#9998*3323#.

    i.e ( star/hash/9998/star/3323/hash )

A message will pop up telling you to press exit, Press exit.
    Choose malloc fail.
Your phone will reboot and your SIM will work.
When you put another providers SIM,you have to do this again.

I unlocked a d900 just yesterday with a code obtained via the net, I'll try and dig it out.

Something to do with it being an early firmware, brb....

It's the 3rd post on the link below, use at your own risk, but I can confirm that by following the instructions exactly, I managed to free an old d900 yesterday. Was Vodafone - Now sim free , tested and working with t-mobile, O2 and virgin.
