Samsung Monitor switching between analogue & Digital

Have an old samsung monitor 2232 BW that starts but as soon as windows load, flips between analogue and digital in the top left corner few times and then goes dark. Ie. Doesnt stay on the input/source. Have tried everything (separate pcs, different cables (VGA and DVI), restarted millions of times and all possible troubleshooting that I could google for. Has been working fine and nothing has changed from my side in terms of GPU, software or anything else. FYI, i had changed all the swollen caps, prior to this episodes.

But alas, no joy.

Any wizzkids on here that can help me solve this, as a final try? Or is my beloved monitor destined for the bin ?
