After stupidly taking my girlfriends advice and waiting for Jan sales, all the 1080p deals that were under £800 have now finished or gone back up!!

I desperately wanted the Samsung 50" full 1080p deal at £699, does anyone know of any stores that are still doing it online/delivered for under £800?

The Novatek deal comes out over and if I was spending that much I'd get the Panasonic deal thats on here.

PLEASE HELP!

Think you've missed out on those deals.

At the risk of dragging up the old 1080p debate, here's a link to a chart that shows resolution benefits in relation to screen size and viewing distance. 1080p only becomes discernable on a 50" screen when viewed at a distance of 10ft or less. The full article is good reading also.

My advice, save yourself some money, buy a HD ready unit and sit more than 10 feet away

My living room is very long but narrowish, thats why I wanted the 1080p.

Been trying to order the panny on here but wont go through!!

1080p at 10ft or more away, if you have blu ray.
otherwise its pointless to even have a 1080p set
