Samsung S5 - MHL adapter (Using Camera)

Hey there I need to send a camera signal to a TV 25m away. I am thinking to use my S5 and connecting a MHL adapter to it - then running a hdmi cable to the TV so the screen is fully mirrored. My question is if I turn on the camera on the S5 when connected to the MHL adapter - will that also mirror to the TV so that the live camera feed is going to the TV? Someone mentioned that the camera on over MHL will not mirror and even if it does there will be a lot of lag. Thanks in advance

might be worth checking if a Chromecast can do this job wire free

Chromecast will indeed do this, and will probably cost less than an mhl adaptor and 25m long HDMI cable.

But chrome cast relys on a WiFi connection doesn't it?

I used to use one but never tried the camera. Whatever was on phone screen was on TV so on paper is should work. I can't try for you as my current rom won't work with adaptor. Only samsung original rom works

Pm me an address and I'll send it you. Was samsung branded for a s3 so must work OK with s5. I have 2 which failed to sell on ebay

Thanks for your generous offer but I ordered one online yesterday coming tomorrow! Thanks again will let you know how it goes - will experiment with that and with mobile chromecast + Hotspot to see if that works better. Thanks again

Phone gets hot because screen is always on so turn down phone brightness. Also need a good charger /power supply or it won't work.

you need wifi for chrome cast, I have s5 and mhl adaptor you won't get 25m connection to tv without external power to leads I tried 2 × 2 metre hdmi leads through a powered hub and the mhl lead and it did not work. However As I have a three unlimited data the mhl is the only way to use my data to watch TV, if you chrome cast it's tethering or your home wifi. don't know about camera question though

Thanks for the advice I ended up buying a 20m hdmi cable (£25) and powered the mhl adapter with a good quality power bank and it works great!
