Samsung.com misinformation regarding price promise.

Posted 21st Jul 2022 (Posted 8 h, 5 m ago)
I purchased a tv using Samsung price promise, a birthday code and trade in.
I checked before hand all terms and conditions state, they can all be used in conjuction with each other.

I got my tv and soundbar on Monday and put through my price promise claim on Monday.

recieved an email Wednesday I had missed some information, sooo sent that all other.

today recieved an email stating the price promise hadn't been approved as I paid a lower price, this had me confused, of course I paid a lower price, the birthday code would lower price and the Trade in would lower it further.

I paid 983 for my tv after discounts and trade in.
the price on the comptetitor retailer is £999 with no discounts or trade ins.

I have then gone through all the terms and conditions and was really confused as the tv trade in clearly states the value shouldn't be taken into account, and again saw the birthday code states can be used in conjunction with all other offers and it specifically states price promise.

I made a call to the samsung promotions team who deal with price promises.

spoke to a man who said he was receiving emails as we spoke on the phone, first email said, birthday code isn't included, when I stated word for word the email I recieved within around 3 minutes he was like oh they have just emailed and said, your correct it is actually included.

I then proceeded to do the same thing with the trade in explaining the value of trade in shouldn't be included, all he said was that the price I paid was lower than the advertised price of richer sounds.

so my point of view is samsung are disregarding there own terms and conditions.

please find below the specific term regarding trade in;

(Participants who have used Trade In in order to lower the actual price paid on their purchased Promotion Products are eligible to take part in the Promotion and receive a Refund equivalent to the difference between the respective advertised prices, i.e. the Trade in discount will not be taken into account. Where this is the case, the Trade In discount must be shown clearly on the applicable proof of purchase)

terms for birthday code;

Happy birthday, James!

I have lodged a formal complaint with the specific department and are waiting for a response but have little faith as they don't adhere to there own terms and conditions.

am I fighting a losing fight, or have I missed something that means they are right.

would love to hear thoughts......
