    Santander Help!

    Can anybody help me?
Basically I have a savings account that I take in my book to withdraw and deposit money..
However would I be able to walk in with my drivers license and withdraw money without the book?

I dont think you can as they need to update the book. Ring the branch to confirm.

May as well call your branch and ask, it'll only take two minutes.

Should do I have with my BS when books were lost.

You'd definitely need the book - they wouldn't let me pay my visa bill without the actual bill (even though they used to let you pay just with handing over the visa card together cash or cheque etc) so doubt they'd let you take out money if they don't let you pay it in!

should be fine assuming you mean your photo-id card rather than the counterfoil paperwork

a utility bill or two would help.

Well I would say definitely yes - if they don't let me pay money IN without the proper paperwork I really doubt they will hand money out of an account if you have no card or payment book. But that's just me being a customer with Santander (formerly Abbey). Be interesting to see if they do though because I'd then kick up a fuss for not taking my money if they can hand it out willy nilly (sticking out tongue smiley).

no they wont let you (unless it is a one off problem where you have lost your book and they will take some other form of id and order you a new book) Why don't you just ask them for a service till card (atm) and use that instead of taking your passbook every time - this is what I did for my son and then you just go to the machine for up to £300 and the rest you can get out over the counter

they wouldn't let my mrs this week when she forgot to take the book with her, stupid really

Why don't you read waycash's post? And get a life while you're at it instead of nitpicking. I'd say its pretty obvious in this day and age with fraud. Wouldn't tell someone it "should be fine" and waste their time when you don't have a clue.

OP - how did you get on anyway - please let us know so we can stop the bickering :o)
