Would really appreciate your help out there.
I know you can buy them with home chargers but I am looking for one with the facility to use standard batteries as a back up.
Dont care if its a current model or not.
If anyone out there knows of or has one with this facility could you post the make and model for me.

Thank You all! & A Very Happy New Year to All HUKD's

you could get a cigarette lighter for your car, only cost a fiver at a guess???

something like ebay item# 110330570906

How old is your car?

Surely you would be better of putting the cash towards a new whip?

not sure if this is with all makes but i have a garmin and you can charge it through your computer or plug for 5 hours operating time...perhaps just charge it before using it?!?!?

many of the garmin models especially the "i" series run on 2 or 4 aa batteries.

Thanks I'll take a look at these.

Would be so easy to put a cigarette lighter socket in your car, either D.I.Y. or pay someone to fit it.
15 minute job

What car is it anyway?.

Its an old L reg ford escort

(I know its old but it gets me around and will hopefully get me about for a little bit longer while I complete my London Taxi knowledge badge)

And before all you blokes out there start on about not doing it on a moped,
1. I'm safe
2. Dry
3. Warm
4. Happy to do it this way

Why dont you get one of these maplin.co.uk/Mod…055 . It is very easy to fit, just run two wires from it, positive to positive on battery and negative to somewhere on chasis

halfords should have a home charger they have lots got one at the weekend to fit my sat nav as my ciggie lighter has broken

Are fuses covered under the warrenty? I thought that would be classed as wear and tear, you could change the fuse yourself in a few minutes as garage may charge you for it
