just recieved a called from a company called 'tech support'
apparently they wanted to take my name and keep it on their data base, but during the call he told me hes got all my details when i refused to give my name.
apparently i had taken out a iphone 4s and he wanted to load up me detail. which didnt make sense since he had all my information on the screen.... (abit fishy)

i asked for a number he gave me which was 0800454964 (one digit missing) however the call was unknown.
and said his name was Tom obrian.

keep a listen out for this.

You did the right thing -and don't fall for the old trick - " Put the phone down and ring the number on your card ,letter etc" . They keep the line open and you're just back to the same guys .

I had a similar call once, so just told the woman my name was Roger Moore, my address as a street name which included the name of a certain part of the female anatomy, and the phone number of a phone box.

Thanks for the heads up! The phone number the caller gave you looks like it's not valid. It's probably just a made-up number.

I looked up the phone number to gather info on the caller and as I suspected, it's not valid. I wonder if you copied the caller's phone number that came up on your caller ID. Can you share it? I found several phone numbers reportedly used by the scammer posted at Your caller could have been reported there already.
