Would scare me - but think you meant scar!

That Decleor gel is brilliant by all accounts for scarring.

my friend bought this in the us and found it good

I had an operation years ago which left a scar and my doctor recommended ]Dermatix gel and to be fair it did do a good job at fading and softening it. might be worth a look at.

No probs If you PM me your address ill get it in the post to you. Just checked, it expires end of june but 2 months should be fine.

Have you tried Dermatix Silicon Gel ? I've used to use it and it's really good...bit pricey though!

When considering a scar.... What kind of scar is it?

Is it new and fresh, or many years old?

And on what part of the body? ( many posters have mentioned ass, dont know if thats a joke! )

Also, how large is it?

I have a scar on my chest from a minor op to move a growth ( it turned out that what they removed was a scar anyway) that was the size of a pea, the scar is now the size of about a 50p piece. It doesnt bother me but it is raised and itches terribly. So i took a trip to the docs and they said that I could see a plastic surgeon. I didnt want to do this because I know that this scarring is called keloid scarring and If i was to have work done on it the chances are the scar would come back larger.
So the doc gave me silicone patches for the scar called silgel. they are just reusable silicone patches that you place over the scar for up to 12 hours. They do work although you do have to constantly use them to get an effect. I always forget to use mine and therefore the scarring has not flattened or become less red.

If you are that concerned about it get to the docs and ask for silgel patches.

yes, the scar is on my butt, it is from burns, they are quite thick and brown, couple of inches long, done about 6 months ago (or round abouts)

You doctor will be able to give you something to help it heal flatter sassie.
I think 6mths isn't that old for a scar it takes ages for them to heal and fade.

it has healed bella, just want something for it to fade, and gp would proably only recommend io oil, so didnt think it worth wasting their time, and would normally go to chemist for advice but dropping me draws in there miht e slightly embarrasing for the pharmacist

oh, sorry, was just reading the thread about lulusmummy when i posted this

sassie there is defiantly a treatment for scars and it's not bio oil. I have seen it at work but can't for the life of me remember it's name. I'll have a look on Monday. I'm pretty sure it's a silicon bassed gel of some sort.

Edit: just remembered..it's called Kelo-cote.
