Just ammending my sons Data collection sheet sent home from school.....emergency tel.numbers , medical info etc.

At the bottom it says
Does your child have a parent serving fulltime in the services? Yes/No

Do I assume they mean one of the forces or does that include fire, police or ambulannce service? Its late, Im tired.bear with me :O)

.........and why would they want to know this information???

i'd assume that it's just the forces.

I would have took as police fire etc, otherwise they would have worded it as forces.

It means the services as in service child armed forces. As I think hubby … It means the services as in service child armed forces. As I think hubby always said the school gets a bit more per head for service kids, or something like that as we move a lot.

Its a standard thing that is asked same when I lived at home, home as not all services live in mq, but pretty sure that's wha It is they get more dosh for service kids.

We are always referred to as a service family/children not forces.

No worries I know the feeling having other family in other services:thumbsup:

Yeah it's all about the dosh, as service kids move a lot, at anytime it can disrupt their education so the schools can apply for local funding and there are also agencies on the MOD side who can get involved with the school if they are SEN, to make sure the school trnasfer is done properly.

Plus I think the Tories are going to increase potential educational funding for service kids, so it pays the school to get them down :whistling:
