it will be a percentage average over all of them

if they all carry an equal weight just divide the total by 6... you would have to use percentages for this..

Is this double science? You get two GCSE grades for double.

I'm guessing they just add up your percentages over the three exams in each award, average it and see which grade it fits in to.

oh, so A>B>C etc, all have points yeah

Are they all the same type of exam? Usually the multiple guess ones count less than the ones where you actually have to answer the questions in your own words.

It's 6 proper written papers, 3 for Science and 3 for Additional Science I'm guessing if it's double.

ad say A - 70% and above
B- 60 - 50
C - 50 -60

you get the idea

I take it English wasn't in the mix then lol.

I'm guessing each one is like B1, C1, P1? and goes up?

yes i was thinking that they just divided the result by 6 and that would be the result, but wasnt sure, hence why i asked, as maybe some of them counted more or less than the others, guess i will just have to wait - lol

it is the exam she takes this year, not the one they take next year with all her others, if that makes sense

maybe chesso will know?

The world is prone to change but I guess it's not that rapid!!

So, the module test marks are what matters. Add them up and add in the coursework mark, to give the total. The examiners for that course will then decide what the thresholds are - the grade boundaries- and award grades accordingly.
So the science teachers will be able to give an approximation based on experience, although as I say, it's often 'all change', but you can never tell for sure til they are actually awarded as the marks can be fiddled about with in a process of giving the 'unified mark score'
example here:
ocr.org.uk/Dat…pdf

Bottom line and depending upon the exam board, if you get 75 - 80% overall on the higher papers that looks like an A.

talk of the devil - lol

she has sat 2 of the tests and one to go, there is no coursework for this one, and out of the 4 tests she has 1 A and been 1 point off an A on all the others, does this mean she wont e able to get an A as the final mark, in other words do you need 6 A's to get an A, sorry im sounding a complete dim wit

 haha.

Not at all a dim question.
As far as I know then they all work on the total of all the test scores.
So if she gets, let's say for a made up example, 240 total out of 300 possible, then that's an A.
239 it's a B
Not an average and not the grades ( because the grades don't really mean anything at this point - they can alter anything they like in the final fiddling).
So she can get an overall A with doing well again in the final two.

ok, thanks chesso, she was a little gutted she was 1 mark off the A 3 times, an A or a B is good, but she wants an A - bless

Yes, unless I really am 'out of date' there's everything to play for; she should check with her teachers though!!
Good girl wanting an A and loads of good luck to her.
