Is it getting up to full revs quickly from a standing start?

i would say no

0-50km/h 6.3
0-100km/h ---
50-80km/h 9.8 Seconds

so does that mean 0-80 kmh is 0-50 mph
so thats 6.3 + 9.8= 16.1 seconds for 0-50, that doesnt sound right for 125cc scooter. i drove i a 1.1 suzuki that took 17 seconds to get to 60.

as a vespa and lambretta rider 0-30 in 6-7 secs for a 125 scooter sounds slowish to me i'd expect 4-5 secs depending on the weight of the rider and how the scoot is geared up

then you would be wrong i'm afraid and i've had many i dont care what a manual says first hand knowledge is the key i currently have a px125 which is a geared scoot making acceleration much more controlable and i suspect that the manual would say diff to me but there ya go

no once again your wrong i had mine to 60mph when it was brand new its like the top gear episode where they tested a car that was restrircted to 155mph and it went to over 190 but like i said until you own one you dont know any fool can look up some tech details on the web that doesn't make them or it right

geesh right ok the run in is 500 miles at 80% revs through the gears , i quote you " they are only the people that calibrate" so if they are 10% all of a sudden when earlier this wasn't mentioned by you then as above says its reasonable to think that a scoot that has a 55mph top speed might infact do £60 mph but as your trying and failing to be smart as you think the 10% only works against instead of for , as i have said i speak from personal experiance over 25 years of owning scooters and have not had to look over the internet to try and sound smart with a few tech details

replaced the air filter, cost £7.50 from the shop, looked on the net and it says the belt should be changed every 10,800 miles, mine has done 10,600 miles. LOL so have booked it up.

Also could need new variator rollers.
Edited by: "kcnw9" 20th Jun 2011

Ok, what is most likely the issue is the rollers, you can put heavier rollers in the centrifugal clutch assembly which increases top speed, but slows 0-30 speed. If you were to put lighter rollers then you will get a slight difference in top end, but a better accelleration. What has most likely happened is the last owner has wanted more top speed so has adjusted.

To access this can be a little tricky, open up the cover connecting the wheel to the engine (usually there is a kick start there) - Then the rear pulley needs to be removed and rollers changed. Any motorbike dealer will be able to do this for you relatively cheap.
