I read about that this morning! Cant believe it!

Doesnt make sense that they have kept the house/flat though does it??? they obviously have no plans to return to it

I also read it this morning. Cheaper than renting and you dont have to clean it.

    What a truly unbelivable story!

They never even have to decorate!

Don't see the point in keeping their own property just for post though!

They could get a P.O box address but this day in age who needs post, mainly get junk mail anyway.

What a pair of loons. :w00t:

How would they ever get over the shock at staying at a top hotel??? They'd probably chain themselves to the bed for another 10 years. :giggle:

£8000 a year according to reports :w00t: :giggle:

I've stayed in that place during one of the trips to visit the rellies I have in Grantham, and it's ok for a night, but there's absolutely nothing to do there or around there, and the rooms are quite small. They must walk across the car park and spend most days in the Little Chef :giggle:

You'd have thought for a bit of excitement they would at least stay in another one down the road every now and again, and have a week in Skegness, just for some variety :-D

One of the reasons they do it apparently is because its way way way cheaper than moving into a retirement home.

Nice - that works out £2000 less than I'm paying for this flat here in Glasgow. They might be on to something there.

I'd say it's income support related. If they sell the house then they have over X amount in savings and will probably lose out on some of their benefits.

Grantham itself is not too bad, its the areas around that are really bad.
