yes. you're allowed to bring them in yourself. not order them from abroad..

i doubt you'll get your other ones too.

I agree with Tomm, but i thought you'd had a proper seizure!!

    mhm.
If we were allowed to order them online, do you think anyone would buy them in the shop?
do you think royal mail would have had to close x amount of post offices?

    Yes you can.

babyxxxxx, ]this may help you with the rules and regs regarding buying cigarettes from abroad.

You may also want to check out the ]HMRC webite

"All cigarettes bought via the Internet must bear UK taxes"

This means bought online from tesco, or whatever.

IT must carry UK DUTY PAID on the packet.

It will do ya good :w00t:

i was referring to all posts, if you dont pay taxes and they get noticed, then goodbye ciggies wherever you have got them from - lol

You can have cigarettes sent in - or at least you could in the past.

However - they had to be marked as gifts and only done 'for occasions such as birthdays' it used to say on the HMR&C site. This was regarded as a concession, and not the law as such.

Remember for years they were taking peoples cars illegally for what later turned out to be bringing in what (after a court case paid for by a ferry company) turned out to be legal amounts of tobacco. However the records of the illegally confiscated cars had been 'misplaced' by then. The UK was also warned that Customs and Excise (as it was then) would be taken to court for their restricting free movement of citizens - by making people wait for hours to get back into the UK after booze cruises etc.

So if they can take cars illegally - and it takes a ferry company to pay for a court case to get someones car back - you are not really likely to see your fags again.

Alternately - of they are marked as gifts - and you dont receive a bundle at once with invoices inside - then you may get away with it.

To reiterate - the downside is they can largely do what they want irrespective of the law - as the cost of challenging them is too high for an individual to do on their own.
