lol, yeah they are blooming annoying

I have never had a problem with them, it's the users that is the problem.

    1) Don't hold the bag
    2) Put the item into a bag / into the tray
    3) Don't move the items once placed

The amount of times I see people do this, is funny. The expect to be able to do all these, and then moan about the things once it beeps at them.

No we need them for when we need to put HUKD bargains through when we want to buy dozens of whatever it is without the check out assistant being suspicious.

Yep its the users at fault, winds me up when you see Mum's doing their weekly shop with it trying to fit 10 bags of shopping on a 2ft by 1ft weighing plate.

At our local Tesco, they changed all of the plates to long ones, about a metre long but in the meteo store, you always see people who don't want to queue at a checkout, try and put a full trolley of shopping through.

i work on the self service checkout and it is the customers, they hold the bag whislt packing and scanning which means it weighs your hand, kids touching it while scanning, scanning a second item without packing the first, a whole weeks shop the small self servs are not designed for that. Simple instructions: scan, pack, let go of bag, scan, pack, let go of bag. nothing else should be touching the bagging area except your items. Also read and listen to what the self servs are saying.

I mute it, damn annoying voice

For some stupid reason the Tesco ones in Northern Ireland won't accept Bank of Ireland bank notes oO That really mucks up the payment process. I hate those self service checkouts.

I find in my local Tesco Express it's quicker to put the shopping through self serve than to be served by a cashier.

Plus I also know how to use the machines

Self service costs jobs. Don't do it, kids.

Just memorize a code from the people who type it in, makes life so much easier.
Everytime I have a problem, I just type the log in thing and password - dob not needed!
    works everytime!

I have noticed also that in my Tesco Extra's there are hardly any cashiers on at the moment because more and more people are using self service. Every little helps lol. . .

never had a problem with them. People are at fault for not following basic instructions.

Nightmare if you you have anything thats been reduced !! also that '' unexpected item in baggage area '' that it can sometimes constantly say ! ( when there isnt !) i end up shouting back at it '' noooo there isnt !'' lol.

Even the staff at our local tesco metro get cheesed off with it !
