Sell old Lego by the kilo.

Found 18th Oct 2017
Just read this on MSE website. Might be helping to those who want to get rid of their old Lego.

If you've mountains of unmatched Lego bricks sitting somewhere - perhaps your children have grown out of it or it was a hobby you're no longer into - you can now turn it into ready cash and sell it online by the kilo (or half kilo).

Two sites - Zapper and Music Magpie* - let you do this. (They also buy old CDs, DVDs and more.) If you have unsealed or complete Lego sets or figures with all the parts though, they'll probably fetch more sold on eBay.

How much can I make? Zapper pays £7/kg, Music Magpie £4/kg. With Zapper you'll need to sell a minimum of £10 of stuff (though this can include CDs, DVDs etc as well as Lego) - with Music Magpie it's a £5 minimum.

Zapper pays you by bank transfer, Paypal or cheque as soon as it's received and processed your items, which can take 6-8 working days. Music Magpie offers the same payment options and pays as soon as it receives your Lego.

Yes, but you'll get £10+ per kg if you sell yourself via ebay or gumtree?
Same goes for Shpock. Lego goes very quickly on Shpock and there are no fees.
And music magpie sells it back to you for £14.99 per kg on Ebay

I think it highly unlikely you will get that price by the time you have deducted postage costs and eBay and PayPal fees. If you sold it for £15, you would probably end up with £8 net.
