Hiya, i am in Germany BFPO (British Forces Post office) address, with a forces move over here, i have a few baby things to sell, does anyone know whether it would be ok for me to do so if i state me being in BFPO on post. Postage costs the same as UK so wont cost buyer anymore than it would if in UK it will obviously take longer to get there though??

Thanks Lynsey

I'll get back to this in a moment or 2. Meanwhile can you confirm to us if you know that tracking/confirmation of delivery details are available to BFPO ?

What do you mean by tracking.confirmation of delivery details?
I know you cant get packages tracked that are being sent to BFPO if this is what you mean?

I think he means recorded / special delivery

A lot of people insist on recorded delivery for items sent via royal mail

hmm not quite sure, would have to go to the camps post office and find out. If recorded/special del is allowed would that mean it be ok?

Hi,

It would be great if you could find out and let us know asap. It might be a little while longer before I can get an answer to you.

Of course you can use special delivery to a BFPO, the guaranteed delivery date is just not able to be filled in.

Were on about from a BFPO to UK address.

A guaranteed delivery date wouldnt be able to put down on the postage from BFPO. I know if i get parcels sent to here through courier i cant track them once they leave the UK. So tracking wise not quite sure how it would work from BFPO to UK.
If i put down that specail/recorded delivery isnt available in the post would that be ok?

Hi,

We will get back to you on this once we've reviewed all points that have been raised. It's not just about your case though. We'll try and find a solution that satisfies all.

Oh right then no wouldnt of thought so. Its no different from you posting from one uk address to another for us to send from uk to BFPO.
For BFPO to (payable) BFPO'S then thats the same as uk to uk.
But for BFPO to uk, i assume its classed as airmail, and would go through the german postal service doesn't it?

BFPO to UK still goes through royal mail as far as im aware the Germans dont touch the mail. Our mail travels to London and then gets dispatched from there i think, As this is what happen UK to BFPO

Yes your right. It goes to wood green i believe, forces post office then sorted from there.

Sorry for jumping in. Cant see why this would be a issue:x. HMF end up dipping out on everything:x If a person wants to sell and the buyer is happy not to have tracking, why is it a issue?

Hi,

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you. We'd love to see you sell here, all that we ask is that as you're based 'overseas' you make this point clear in any trade that you participate in, buying or selling.

Good luck.

Thankyou! Will make it VERY clear in posts of my sellings, that i am overseas.
