Selling Fifa 16 Code on ebay

    Hi there
I sold a Fifa 16 digital code on ebay and emailed the code after the buyer had paid with paypal
Now 8 days later I have an email from ebay stating
"eBay listings removed - unauthorized user of buyer or bidder account"
I have checked the code and it has now been redeemed.
Does this mean I have to go through ebay resolution centre, what are my choices?
Hopefully someone can help who has had the same problem
    Thanks

Has the money been put on hold or returned back to the buyer?

If there is an issue don't bother going through eBay, go straight to paypal and it will get sorted much quicker.

It's on hold and I must reply within 7 days. They are asking for evidence.
Would I need to sent a copy of the card with the code on and a copy of the email I sent to the buyer

This is quite common when buying/selling codes for games on ebay. Buyer will purchase code, redeem code, and then open a dispute saying your code didn't work.

Very difficult to prove on your part as the buyer will be able to obtain screenshots/pictures saying your code isn't valid (of course it isn't because they've already redeemed it!)

You have been scammed. I once lost £££. eBay and PayPal doesn't have any seller protection for digital codes. So buyer can say some one hacked/unauthorised access there eBay and PayPal. Even if you prove by all means that buyer has bought and used code your voice will go to deaf ears. Only thing you can do is write negative comments in the positive feedback for the buyer and do it on the last day of feedback so that they can't leave negative feedback after scamming you!!

Not used ebay for a while but usually you wil also get an adress to post an item physically even if its a code your sending. Use the address to order several takeaways from their town delivered to their house. Wait a week rinse and repeat. Wont get you your money back but youll feel alot better lol

Sounds good in theory, surely they will have my address and do the same if they cotton on.

This is my reading of the policy and someone please correct me if there's a different interpretation, but a problem that you may come up against here is that, as I understand it, strictly, digital goods can't be sold on eBay in this way as a third party. See here: pages.ebay.com/hel…tml

In particular, you're not the IP owner and won't have an explicit authorisation from the IP owner to sell on.

You can of course try to argue your case here by providing copies of the messages where you sent on the download/redemption details, but I'd suggest not getting your hopes up too much here, sadly.

Im pretty sure only the seller is sent the address by email via ebay but dnt take that as gospel.

I once stupidly sent 50 pounds via paypal part payment for an ipad which predictably didnt arrive via gumtree though not ebay. The seller/scammer used his proper number to promise several times the package was on its way etc

To cut a long story short not only did i get my 50 pound back i also managed to get a decent sum in conpensation for my inconvenience

If the person ur dealing with has set up the account with the intention to scam people uve probably got no hope but you would be surprised how many try their luck through their proper accounts etc

They can do an information request because they have completed a transaction but the information is limited: ebay.co.uk/sch…e=9

It's possible to request seller contact information here, but address details, etc., aren't provided by default without using this method: ebay.co.uk/sch…e=9
