Selling house - neighbours planning application

Found 21st Nov 2017
Hi,

im selling my house, have accepted an offer, all seems to be going trough ok, the buyers valuation is booked in later this week.

however I’ve just had a letter through the door to say that the ajoining neighbour has put in an application for a 2 storey side extension, canopy and extension to the rear.

is this likely to come up in the searches the buyers are doing?

Thanks

Simple answer is yes if the application is lodged it will come up as that during the searc

as above said, yes. you will be asked to complete a seller questionnaire, which will ask for disclosure of potential planning applications as well as those in progress that you are aware of.

Even if it doesnt show on the searches you need to disclose.

What letter??

If it’s next to your boundaries you can appeal the planning .

The letter from the Local Planning Authority giving the planning application no. anddetailing how to lodge objections to the plans.

Op, lodge your objections to the plans with valid reasons as per the letter instructions. If the buyer is also concerned (probably best you tell them before they find out) you could encourage them to also object. Anyone can object, you don't have to be a neighbour.

It was sarcasm, just carry on say you received no letter

Some buyers would want to extend their purchase too so hopefully it won't cause any issues.
