Then buy them a card that they know wasn’t free!

I’ll be sending them Christmas cards and a small gift too.

Please remember though many families are on tight budgets and teachers know this so probably won’t stick there nose up at a Free thank you card.

Its the thought that counts (edited)

Everyone knows on here that my spelling punctuation and grammar are terrible.

Your manners could perhaps be improved though

That's understandable, but it won't cost much to make a personalized card with your child. Surely that will be much nicer than any generic pre made card and shows that you actually appreciate them enough to put some effort into it.

The cards are actually sent along with an email to the headteacher, saying their staff have been recognised and thanked. That isn't a bad thing, which you won't get with a purchased card.
Also, teachers who receive a card go into the nomination pool for the Pearson teacher of the year award.
a nice thing for any teacher to feel their work is valued and appreciated

When people say this to me, I reply, "Think a bit harder next time".

It's the material people that suck the life out of this world.

this is all good, but how can you make teaching attractive without good salary and perks, see what bankers earn, what other professionals are earning, just words do not make it good, there has to be credible support structures around it..

A fantastic idea - teachers get neither the pay nor the recognition they earn on a daily basis. Heat.

I'm guessing the text of the card will be machine-printed, right? Not handwritten? I don't think this is going to convey the message they think it will.

This is what I do with my kids as I loved receiving the handwritten notes, cards and drawings.
