i'm going to lanazarote a day before you! Is it wise to wait at the moment? (sorry to hijack your thread!)xxx

I dont think it will make that much of a diff within the next 10days.

without knowing the rates you will get at the airport or in town in lanzorote its hard to say but generally they slightly better over there, or they were when i last went

get them here

here at the Halifax or Nationwide

thank you

i always buy over there.

went to lanzarote a couple of months ago

best rate here at the time 1.23

airport rate 1.13

over there 1.26 commission free

I use a Caxton FX as they always give better rates. It is basically a prepaid debit card so you can use it in shops and restaurants and it costs you nothing and you dont get stiffed by the exchange rate again as the card is in euros.

There is a 2 euro charge for using the ATM but as I take out all the cash I need in one go then it still works out better. Also some shops now do cashback which doesn't cost you.

Todays rate is 1.25 euros to the pound or $1.95 to the pound.

Also its much safer than carrying lots of cash around.
