Should I buy my holiday Euros now or at the end of the month

As the title really, going on holds to Gran Canaria at end of month, am I best to buy my euros now, or wait till a couple of days before I travel. I normally just take sterling to the resort and get a better rate there, but wor lass doesn't like that idea no more due to people telling her horror stories. She likes the look of them pre-paid euro card like tesco and post office offer. Anyone offer some advice, is the pound likely to fall further against the euro?

If anyone knew the answer to that, they could make a killing on the exchange markets. Your guess on how the pound will go is as good as anyone else's.

In terms of value for money, your best bet is either a credit or debit card from Nationwide (or one of the other banks that gives you interbank exchange rate and doesn't charge commission on foreign currency). Then either pay for everything on the credit card or get cash and/or pay on the debit card.

I dont expect sterling to recover anytime soon so It wont matter so much. I use a caxtonfx euro card. They always have the best rates but you have to put on at least £500. I put £1500 on mine last year when the rate was 1.36 euros to £1. They are free to use in shops, restaurants and the like. You just have to pay 2 euros in the cash machine so try to take out all the cash in one go.

Ps If we all die tomorrow it wont matter! Just hope the weather is better on the other side!
