    noones been??

It's not exactly far from LA, so why not go there in the morning and see how things pan out? There are plenty of hotels around which you can book on the day if you want to stay overnight.

Although, why you want to go there when you don't know what there is to do is beyond me. Just goto Malibu or Santa Monica.

You reckon its much better to visit the 2 places you mentioned above without knowing what to do.

Yup, because I've been to both and know what's there.
Plus they are closer to LA:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Santa Barbara is quite nice - or go further north to Santa Cruz. (Not too far though.... Santa Claus is quite a way further!)

Cant remember too much about it to be fair. T'was yonks ago. I did like Santa Monica as the poster above suggests - and that's pretty good for access to a fair bit from there. Venice, Muscle and Malibu, were more for people who loved themselves.

There's plenty of beaches if the weather is gonna be OK.

Thanks for both response, planning on going to the state sometime this year and just thinking of where to go, ve got friends and family in chicago, maryland texas etc but looking to go solo just want to look around by myself and see whats going on...

TBH I didn't really like LA all that much, although you should go at least once just to say you've been there. It's great to see the landmarks such as the Hollywood sign, and the buildings etc etc and of course the gorgeous beaches and Disney/Universal. But once you've done all them there ain't much else, and the place is so spread out you need a car to get anywhere. I think we were there for 4 nights and it was too long.

Much better to go to San Fran/NY/Vegas.
