should I pay £109 and get sky HD?

As title, should I go for it today?
Anything I should wait or look out for?

    Thanks for any advice.

personally wouldn't bother, have got it myself on a full hd tv and think its massively overrated especially at that price. Some people rave about it though so maybe its just me

If you watch a lot of sports / movies then it's well worth it. If you're only on the standard entertainment pack I wouldn't bother though.

Don't forget to factor in the £10 per month extra you have to pay Sky for the annual HD subscription

doesn't matter if you ahave a full HD tv or not as sky do not broadcast in 1080p

    How much?!?!?!

I'm through my 12 month contract with Sky - when i threatened to leave they said i could have SkyHD for free, box and installation included.

Plus i didn't have the the £10 a month HD sub if i agreed to have Sky Movies for a 12 month period.

wait until there is an offer on, i got it for £30 but not worth paying out over £100 and dont forget installation charges

How much are movies a month

lol, just noticed that Sky have changed the small print on their website for exisiting customers taking out HD - not only do you have to pay £109 (£49 for the box and £60 install) you now also have to take out multiroom too, so you'll be looking at an extra £20 p.m. on your bill !!!

    £16 p.m.

Only a good deal if you wanted movies anyway. If not....then well done Sky :-D

Nobody gets anything for " free " from Sky, it will be included somewhere in their charges.

Edited above. Movies put your bill up £16 p.m. Unless you've got sports, and then it only puts it up about a fiver.

It's £20pm, as they've changed the Ts and Cs so you have to have multiroom too.

If they say "bye" you go without until they offer you a decent deal to rejoin

Thats odd because when I add multiroom, the installation drops from £60 to £30.. or I can remove multiroom and only replace my standard box which boosts installation back to £60..

If you like movies / sports, and can afford it then go for it  I wouldn't have HD for the package you're on though, as there's only really Sky One HD, E4HD, Discovery HD and BBC / ITV / C4 HD.

Yeah, it'll nearly double your monthyl bill.

Call them and see what they can do. Although bear in mind that with Freeview HD out soon, and it being World Cup you (so lots of HD football) they'll probably have some better deals over the coming months to sign people up - even for existing customers.

I can't see them giving you Sky Sports HD / Sky Movies HD if you don't have the sports/movies package :? It's only worth it if you have the lot.

We've just got a sky HD box and a couple of packages (not movies or sport) and have found we hardly watch HD at all. It's really hard to remember to not watch BBC1 on the normal channel and I can't even think what else we even get close to watching in HD. I'd say if you are already a SKY customer, leave it as it's not worth it.
I just paid £35 for the SKY+HD box, installation and then got £50 Tesco voucher back for signing up so don't get done, get dom lol

I paid £39 for a phone line installation, and my TV installation was free cos i got the HD box with all channels and currently pay £78 per month and have everything off them...Unlimited phone, highest broadband and all channels (all packs/sports/movies and in HD). Cant complain really cos i got the same stuff from Virgin for £90 (one of the VIP packages they had). and Sky have more HD channels.

I'd just resent paying £78 a month for probably 65-75% of stuff I wont get to watch/use!
