Should I wait and take the risk??

Hey all..

A few months ago some of you may recall that I had my eye on a private number plate selling for £2800. Over the last few months they have been reducing it and I have now been contacted by the company again. The current price is now £2100 - open to offers. Should I wait a little longer and see if it drops anymore, however there is the risk it may sell. (Esp coming up to xmas)

Not quite sure what to do... I've always wanted a private number plate and this one is the most affordable one that reads my name :O)

You're so vain

How many letters, numbers is it ?? new or old style prefix ?

I would just buy it, I was lucky with mine, got it at a good price, however I wanted a second for the other car, sat watching it for months like you are doing and it sold!!

Go for it!!!... Why wait, expecially if its the closed to reading your name! They've gone up a hell of alot since I purchased mine 6years ago - £2800, woooow oO!!!

I originally offered £2k about 3 months ago based on the price of £2800, at first they rejected it, then they emailed me a month later saying they have reconsidered but I refused. Since then they have been slashing the price slowly. Based on todays price I would be looking to offer alot less than £1800. Any ideas on what is a fair offer? (_;)

Hmmm thats the risk you see... It has 3 letters a gap then 1 number and letter so 5 characters altogether, then again my name isnt common so it may well get reduced further!

Start offering low and take it from there... and take a day between increasing your price.

if they need the cash they will sell!

Could chance your arm at 1400 then barter until both agree on a price?

They will probably have a figure they are willing to sell at, just cut to the quick tell them you want their final offer and see what they say. Tell them you need a quick answer as you have an offer of another. Say you haven't got time to quibble whats the lowest they will take. If you have to go in with an offer go £1500

Well I sold my Mini and decided to grow up! Brought an Astra instead Lolololol oO

Start really low, let them reject, they will think about it and offer counter bid, then you reject theirs etc etc, hopefully you will reach price you want.

Lay it on thick and tell them the other one is very similar and they want £1500 for it so unless they can match it that one will 'seem' the better offer.

Check the plate isn't available through dvla and this company aren't just 3rd party re-sellers.

Yes I do Luckily I could just use my bonus money so it wont affect my actual take home. Always like to treat myself with that. Didnt work for almost 18 months so I think a treat is in need.

But knowing them they will ask for the plate in question and go check the price... they stupidly have that power to do so!!

They dont counter offer unless ur very close to the lowest price they will sell at, then they propose an offer to you! Makes you think though.. if they can slash it by £700 in 2 months... how much is that plate REALLY worth??

If its something you really want and you can afford it then just go for it!
