Should Poundland change their name?

I picked up a Teddy in poundland for my Son, thinking it was for £1. When I got to the till, I was told it's £4. I think it's ridiculous.

i know its ridiculous

They sell them (and many other things over £1 ) in all stores - all these items are marked in 2inch high (at least) letters stating the price . Too difficult ? maybe your question should be addressed to the RNIB ? You took it to the till oO Expecting to post a £4 item bought for £1 on HUKD ? Possibly Nationwide ...etc etc

Scandalous.

And here's me thinking you got everything in the shop for a pound.

Never been so outraged before in my life. We should start a petition..... Who's with me?

Osbourne and Cameron foretold the Apocalypse.......

True. They should change their name. It's not Poundland anymore.

No its fine, their reputation is ruined in my eyes. Ill still go in and decide for myself what is worth it and not as ive always done.

My main point is if people did not buy their £1+ items then they would stop selling them and go back to £1

Not working. I just tried to sign. There's probably a few thousand votes if it gets a mention in the DM and DE at the very least.

Have you ever seen all these other 99p and £1 stores coming and going?. Ever wondered why?. I'd imagine poundland and all these other stores lose money on some products at this price. They'll rely on a high turnover. Expanding their business into items worth more than £1 isn't really worth talking about is it?. I don't think so anyway.

And no, if people stopped buying their £1 items, they'll go out of business. X)

X) nice one shadey, I didn't even sign it myself. This should be interesting

Probably because everyone is used to their old slogan "everything £1". Of course they are no longer allowed to use that as they are slowly turning their stock into £2, £3, £4 etc...

This is HUKD. Matters such as this are deadly serious.
The op could have half fainted with the shock and injured themselves! Poundland needs to sort out their health and safety straight away.
This could have had tragic consequences.

I won't sleep tonight because of this. My evening is ruined.

Please sign the petition. It may make you feel a bit better, although it's completely understandable if you're still devastated.

I already signed and commented and I don't want to sully the integrity of the petition by using another of my rather numerous E addresses. That would be wrong.

Perhaps we should set up a 'gofundme' as well to raise the other £3.00.

I'm still a bit too upset to contemplate it. Maybe the teddy actually weighed a pound not cost a pound?

i was actually by one a couple of days ago that still has the 'everything for £1' slogan in big letters on the front and so i had this very conversation at the time about how they should change their name and shouldnt be allowed to use that anymore

No they should shut and stop peddling chinese crap!, good riddance!I say, to Inferior product's you buy cheap you pay twice, or get less weight in the item your buying and naff quality for your pound than usual, its all a con! You get what you pay for.
