No specialist shops around my area to measure up my feet but should I go for a half size bigger for a shoe I plan on using in the gym for some light cardio and weights etc?

I would've have thought that would be the last thing you would want, the space would cause slipping and blisters/sores.

See I read the opposite on a load of running websites saying you should go half a size to a full size bigger.

Just wanted other opinions, still not sure.

your* (Purchase trainers your correct size)
If you're getting adidas trainers you can get a half size above as they are generally a tighter fit than most apparently.
The size above sometimes applies to football boots due to thick socks and breathability. Thats what we were told in DW Sports anyway! A half size might not make a huge difference, there might be a shoe size template online you can use?
Just don't put your foot through the monitor lol
I dont think you should be allowed out of the house!

If your size 9... Buy a size 9!
Just get your normal size... It really doesn't matter, it's not like your feet is going to be growing at a rapid speed.

They'll go good for a couple of year(s), I'd rather not risk purchasing something for the gym that's going to be too lose or too tight.

If purchasing for casual wear, I'd recommend going a half or a size up so it lasts longer. Otherwise you're fine.

light cardio isnt running
Your feet will expand.

"It is normal for your feet to swell a little bit during exercise—enough to make a difference of about one shoe size, but some people may experience even more swelling than that. Others also experience noticeable hand swelling while running or walking."
