What are folks preferences on this then, which is best do the great washed recommend? Always been a curtain fan, but not sure if a screen is better........

curtain!! All day long. I know they stick to you sometimes, BUT they are easier to clean. Just chuck in the machine and bobs your uncle. Screens are a nightmare. Even with the magic duck thingy!!!

Screen is easier to clean! After a while, shower curtains go all mouldy and yucky - can't stand them! Use a squeegy thing to clean your shower screen (daily if you are like me!)

I've got a big bath so have two shower curtains up, dont think a screen would provide enough covarage. I'd have to clean a screen. But my shower curtains just go in the washing machine. Mind you they do get in the way a little and sometimes cling to you when your wet if you touch them!

I hate the way the curtains get stuck to you!
Screens are easy to clean. Just use a very small amount of washing liquid in water (tip was given to me by a window cleaner)

nothing worse than mouldy cracks and crevices!!!! Inevitable evantually:whistling:

Tesco do a plain white shower curtain for about 99p or so, which we then hang inside of our fancy one. When the plain one gets a bit grubby (?) we throw it away & replace with another. Meanwhile, the posh shower curtain never gets wet. Every little helps ;-)

Lol! Actually, even though my shower is squeeky clean I do have mould spots IN the grout. I saw a product in the Lakeland book by a manufacturer called 'HG'. Anyone tried that stuff?

Curtain. Get a new one every 6 months

I scrub my grout with a bit of bleach and an old toothbrush, kinda does the job alright.

Wallpaper steamers work on grout, but after a week or 2 it comes back.

Good idea. Well worth it!!!

if it wasn't for screens, it would be curtains for all of us.
John Candy has some lovely looking shower curtain rings for sale, love that film.

I love a good screen! Cant stand shower curtains. I bought some flash grout cleaner for mouldy grout, it works a treat

Screen everytime. Very easy to clean and there is nothing worse when viewing a property to buy than to see a shower curtain. Devalues a property more than anything IMHO.

He is not buying a house just a shower curtain.

Screen is better in my opinion. The Curtain can get quite frustrating. Or how about getting both? lol
Happy to help

Yes but my point is that curtains are nearly as bad as carpets in a bathroom.

We've lived in about 10 houses in the last 18 years, and had a mix of screens and curtains. problem i find with a screen, is if you're in a hard water area, you have to polish off and dry any water or the glass 'dulls' very quickly. As for devaluing a house 1) you have to be pretty shallow to allow the absence of a shower screen to affect your option of the potential of a property and 2) If you are the vendor, maybe replace the shower curtain - it won't break the bank!
