I'm looking for a sim free Nokia E71. Play and Ebuyermobile have them for around £290, does anyone know of anywhere cheaper?

Correction, its £15 to get it unlocked by 3 or about £20 from some back street mobile shop.

But then it will have the '3' software on it I would have thought?

I want it to be plain nokia software, no 'planet 3' or 'my 3' links etc.

Any more info would be appreciated though as it would seem the cheapest option.

Thanks,

Steve

Apparently 3 will not provide an unlock code until a handset is 12 months old... is this correct? If so it would be no use me buying the handset from 3.

Any more advice much appreciated as i'm really trying to get hold of an E71 asap.

Cheers,

Steve

I have a E71 on 3 network, got it on PAYG and got it unlocked for £20 from a mobilephone shop. 3 would unlock it but they didn't have the code as the phone was too new, this was about 3 months ago. Also Turbo sim also works on the E71 for unlocking, which cost about £15.

There is not much branding on the 3 handset only start up screen and a few bookmarks. I'm waiting for the new firmware so I can unbrand it totally.

Thanks for the info. I'm not too keen on using a Turbo Sim option.

I think I will still opt to buy sim free. Play.com seem reasonable as I can go through quidco and also a further 5% off from the RAC/Play deal posted on the forum.

Thanks,

But I want an unlocked sim free handset with generic Nokia firmware (not 3 firmware). Also, the 3 handsets can be hard to unlock as having researched online, without the 3 unlock code they can be a nightmare. Thanks anyway, Steve
