    Sim only guidance

Sim only deals – for all you experts out there. I have a friend who can only get decent/consistent 4G speeds indoors with either Vodafone or o2. She uses it a lot indoors and is searching for a decent deal. Vodafone has up now 5Gb and unlimited minutes and texts for £15 for 12 months contract. I think it is even available through carphonewarehouse for £11pm after cashback (no roaming I suspect). All I need to know is – is this average, better than, worse than for Vodafone. She has a few months to choose, just don't want to pass this one by if Vodafone or o2 are unlikely (given history) to do better over the next 2/3 months. I know it's not easy to answer - just looking for best advice based on your knowledge of these companies. Thanks

    Avoid Vodafone at all costs.

    Avoid O2 at all costs.

Vodafone £22.20 PM on a 12 month Simm only Unlimited Text & Minutes and 20GB data. Plus choice of Spotify Premium / Sky Sports Mobile / Now TV Entertainment package for 12 months. If your friend gets decent 4G coverage and would benefit from Spotify / Sports or Now TV. Then its a pretty good deal.

I would avoid Vodafone as a plague

It depends on the signal strength and available bandwidth at the cell tower she's going to be using the phone the most but ee recently started unlimited/unlimited/20GB 12 mth for 16 quid a month

Should have said ee do home boosters so **** indoor strength ain't an issuemail just hook it up to your phone line and it gives you decent 3 g speed (around 10 mb per second)

The Signal Box plugs into your broadband router and creates a link to our network to provide indoor coverage.

It works by providing 3G coverage with a range of about 15 metres, so anyone with access can make a call just as normal. Any customers on Orange, T-Mobile or EE can use the same box.

Signal Box is now available for purchase in our retail stores. Please click here to find your nearest store

It's all well and good to offer personal opinions on networks, BUT o2 and vodafone are the ONLY networks that she can receive consistent and decent 4G signal and speed indoors (live small place northern ireland) I have had deals with both networks and have no problems with them. I appreciate some of you have had problems with them but they work for her. Other networks trialed and no 4G coverage can be had. Some parts of NI does not get the best of coverage compared to UK mainland. Now that is explained - back to my question if you can help -

Considering only o2 and vodafone are her options - Max budget is 15pm - does not really want to spend more and has no need for such high data (10, 15, 20 etc) - Vodafone have a deal of 5GB, unlimited/unlimited at £15pm (11 via carphonewarehouse or mobilephonesdirect can't remember which one).

My question please and this is all I really want answered (appreciate a direct answer) - based on your knowledge of vodafone historically and what you may know/expect them to offer in next 3 months are they likely to offer better sim only packages at around this £10-15pm (or o2 for that matter) GB needed 3-5. Minutes needed 1000 minimum

    anyone?

I would say now is a good as time as any to grab a deal. After Xmas they may launch something else but you'll more than likely find they will throw all the good stuff now in the Xmas run up. Sure there will always be a deal to be had some where. You can never really be sure. Hope this helps
