Buying a tumble and the choice is above around £15 more for hotpoint just want peoples thoughts on if its worth the extra for hotpoint.

mmmmmmmmm, both good brands, depends, on all the diff specs, £15 isn't much difference I can sea the point in your question!

The hotpoint should be easier to get parts for & parts should be cheaper when it starts to go wonky, if you worry about that sort of thing.

    worto.

    Not worth the extra.
I actually prefer Indesit appliances, but I don't have access to Which?.
So really my opinion is pretty worthless.

Doesn't make any difference, Hotpoint is just an indesit brand:

"In February 2005, Merloni Elettrodomestici was renamed Indesit Company, Indesit being the best known of the Group’s brands outside Italy. The Company was also operating under its “historic” brand, Ariston, and the regional brands Hotpoint, Scholtes and Stinol.

At the beginning of 2007, Indesit Company launched the Group’s new brand architecture, in which Hotpoint merged with Ariston to form the Hotpoint-Ariston brand."

Very unimpressed with my Hotpoint washing machine (and I'm sure someone told me they were made by another manufacturer now)

But I don't have a tumble drier - I prefer to be able to eat than dry my clothes quickly

indesit are useless - washing machine repairer says. Hotpoint's last a long time , ours lasted 5yrs, the first 11yrs.

Their both the same company, Share the same parts as well, If you can afford a bit more avoid any Hotpoint based company product.

get a bosch if you can stretch a bit more so much better in my opinion

Your lucky, My Hotpoint washer/dryer stopped working after 1 and half years, I'd had Hotpoint engineers out within days of buying it as it was faulty...!!!

Hotpoint fridge/freezer stopped working after 2 years.

Other Hotpoint products I've had in the past have gone kaput with in an unexpected lifespan as well.

Luckily now the only Hotpoint products I own are a Cannon Cooker and an idesit dryer, I don't expect them to last more than a couple of years either...!!!!

I work for Hotpoint and can confirm both these dryers are made in the same factory - in Bristol UK.
Buy whichever is cheapest - the parts inside are the same.:-D

The Hotpoint looks better and uses slight less energy but you'd probably only save 1p a year.

Personally you'd probably be better with one of ]these

to be a fair i have had a white knight dryer and it lasted about 5 years, it was really good for the money prob your best bet yes around that price, the only drawback is it seems to be 5 week delivery wait

thanks for the answers goin to pick the indesit one up tomorrow, ive had a hotpoint firdge/freezer and washer for over 5 years now and not had any problems at all but i have kept them maintained well.

cool might be made in bristol now but like us that work in wales making hotpoint washers we are all losing our jobs because indesit are now going to import from poland don't buy hotpoint after 2009
