Skiing Holiday For 2 Beginners

My girlfriend and me would really want to experience some 7 day skiing holiday in Feb/Mar. We are fit enough although never went skiing before.
I'm researching places and prices for a week now and all I found is
    £434pp for 19 Mar '11 (7 nights)
    Catered Chalet Gatwick to Geneva.
I don't mind location, would it be Switzerland or Bulgaria, we're just looking for inexpensive escape to mountains.
    Help appreciated

read something about fresher ski week not sure of details but its a cheaper week have a look here
you get passes and ski thrown in for free

the sedge, thanks a lot, I'm reading it now and I can not believe.. well I will believe when I will book one

We've been to Andorra 3 times and really good for beginners stayed in Princessa park in Arinsal.

let us know how you get on with booking one of these siqass. I haven't been skiing for years would love to go again. sure your have a great time skiing.

I wouldn't choose any resort in Switzerland, cost of drinks/food etc is very high.

ditto the above... I lived there for a year and went skiing lots... it is expensive.... Look into Bulgaria.... much much more reasonable.... Bansko and Borevetts are two resorts I've been to and were good... in my opinion.

spent all evening browsing for given date for free skiing gear and sadly Italy and Andorra is gone
Maybe I should avoid Switzerland as it will leave a hole in my bank account (_;)

    finally booked it with kwiktrawel:
RESORT: BANSKO IN BULGARIA 7 nights leaving Sat 26/ 2/11
    paid 269pp
+booked LEARN TO SKI PACKS 160pp (which meant to include ski pass, equipment and even daily lesson). < wasn't to sure about this one, the salesman insisted that its much cheaper to book it now than later... we will see

You can ski on real snow at quite a few places now in the UK if you want to get a few lessons before you go - Xscape at Castleford, Milton Keynes or Glasgow and there's one at Tamworth too, probably others. You probably already know that, but if you've never been skiing and don't live near them, you might not!

panddda thanks for advice, I'm sort of ok as I did it before just not on the that huge mountains.
I hope my girlfriend will quickly improve so we can loose the instructor
Even so after some research I found that Bansko is nice old town, we do enjoy bumming around places
