SKY BOX FREEVIEW HELP

So, I have a spair couple of ports on my LNB, Have a spair box which without a card seems to get a lot of channels.

Sky say that there are some that are encrypted, (but still free to view) but you just need a viewing card (which costs £20 from them) to view them.

Does anyone have the channel list for WITHOUT A CARD, and WITH A CARD?

Any help would be truely appreciated and repped.

Only a couple of channels need the card - possibly Ch5 and Ch4? but it's only £20 - worth it

thanks for the info,, though if it's only ch4 and ch5 (i get ch4 without a card btw) for £20 then thats not really worth paying the extra £20 for, i thought there may have been quite a few more worthy channels to persuede anyone into getting a card...

If you hunt about on Skyuser you'lll find out what channels you need a card for (or perhaps www.sky.com ) but I'm pretty sure it's only a couple

BTW, you cannot get " Freeview " via a Sky Receiver, you can only get the free channels from Sky known as FreesatfromSky.

Freeview is via an aerial.

Sky might call it freesat from sky.

But its just plain Freesat and is zilch to do with Sky. I'd imagine they will be pulled up on this at some stage. Freesat via sky is fine!

Can get Sky 3 with a freesat card too... I don't think I have ever watched anything on Sky 3...

Yes there is see ukfree.tv/all…php

fSfS channels that require the £20 viewing card, or an expired subscription card are marked with a star.

But of course if you have "freeview" you can watch them there. However as I said above - it's only £20 and they're all there in the one box. By the way you can get some good deals from sky for under £20 pm but that's for another thread

Nope I think you've got it now. Ch4 is no longer scrambled.

I had a sky box and £20 card before but I've just changed from BT for my phone to Sky talk and taken the anytime package - free calls all the time. I get broadband free and I've gone for 3 mixes which gives me loads more channels. All for £25 per month. I upped mine to get the HD box with sky+ recording feature but I think it's worth it and just jumped in for a special deal on movies for 3 months at a fiver a month.

I am really pleased. The basic broadband is free and is all you need if you are not downloading loads of movies and music

definatly well said, just done rougly the same for my dad, though BT wanted 130 for re-connection!!

I didn't take my line rental away from BT as sky are only marginally cheaper and I retain the option of going back. As you say - big charge for reconnection to BT even if they only click their mouse to do it.
Only downside is that they charge for any non 01/02/03 number - like 0870 or 0845 but of course you can get out of that by using saynoto0870.com/sea…php for an alternative UK landline number
