    Sky + failed recordings. How do i fix this?

    Hi does anyone know what the problem is?

    I keep getting a failed recording (1 in every 2 times) even though when i check the planner it says it is recording

    Is there a fix?

    I was told by the engineer to keep at least 30% free space or I will get problems

    Mine has always been fine, but maybe that's your problem?

    If not, then phone Sky - shouldn't they replace it?

    We had to have the little dongle/reciever thing replaced on the end of the dish & that fixed it for us - think it cost about £60.

    I had same problem a few months ago, you need to ring sky, explain the problem, but make sure you have a failed recording in your listing so they can access it. They fixed mine and have had no problems since:thumbsup:

    Check the two wires at the back, have you removed them lately to move the box

    I had a problem when I did it, Just make sure they are both screwed on tight and not broken at the end

    There's not a recording clash is there?

    Damn just deleted them, i'm just currently trying to update the system software, then i will defrag it, see if that works

    No, this has been happening for the past week with various programmes even when i'm watching and recording at the same time

    Does it have a format function on these?

    What I was thinking.

    The only times i've ever had a failed recording is when programs on different channels overlap each other by a minute making one of my recordings fail.

    So had I but they managed to fix it anyway, they just said if it happened again to keep it and ring them straight away

    Do i get some kind of warranty for the sky+ box as i've only had it 4 months as i don't want to be charged for a replacement/repair?

    12 month warranty, we had same problem, called them and they came out and replaced it no problem

    Ive only ever had failed recordings when the power has gone off.

    Same thing going on here to, my husband tried to record last night and it has failed again

    No, me neither - that's just what the engineer told me so thought I would pass it on
