Sky + features with a Sky Freesat Card?

I've just had my Sky + upgraded to HD. They took the card from my old box and put it in the new HD box. If I run another two wires from the LNB to the main bedroom and use my old Sky + box with a Sky Freesat card, will I be able to use the Sky + features?

    Cheers.

No you can't - You'll need to pay extra for that

So, what use is this Sky + box to me if I'm not wanting to pay the extra for the features? Apart from it being a normal freeview box?

No benefit - I have an old one too that I use as a freeview box in another room. I have the main one linked via magic eye so can also see the main one and watch from that. However can be switch back if the new one goes faulty out of warranty I suppose

So you've got your main Sky box with a Magic Eye running to another room so you can watch all you channels in another room and the other Sky + box acting as a freeview bow in another room, yeah?

Yep - Can't watch more than one premium channel in different rooms though but have the option of the free ones for the old box and no multiroom fee to pay.

However annoyingly to get Sky Sports News and a couple of others you may need a third device - Standard freeview as it's blocked on a sky box even with a card but free to view on standard freeview.

Minimum £10 per month to Sky to use the recording facility of Sky+ Receivers.

    yup.

But if you paid the £10 for multiroom, you'd get all your subscribed channels AND be able to use the recording facilities.

Dont think its worth it... but if you had in mind to pay the tenner for recording, then chose multiroom!

Agreed, best option, if someone wants to use a Sky+ Receiver fully, personally I would never pay Sky a penny piece.

Nevermind. I was hoping to use the Sky + features on the box in the main bedroom. Another question. How many Magic Eye's can you run off one box?
