there was an offer going on last week i think and it was for an HD box for £149 plus about 60 installation

I was also interested in this but felt it wass too expensive just yet for what you are getting

Once BBC and ITVs Freesat service is launched with HD channels and Virgin Media pulls its finger out and offers more HD channels.

Sky will have to pull down it's currently ridiculously expensive SkyHD pricing.

Tiscali is also in the tv market a friend told me

Personally I am going to wait until their are more HD channles avaliable on SKY before switching over to HD as I dont feel like it is worth the money at the minute.

Apparantly some HD channels are showing standard definition programmes on SKY, don't know how many channels do this or how many prgorammes are involved

hmmm...tru say....but then again if there is more availability of channels I do not think it will go down as much?

However I was thinking what about if I just buy a Quad LNB for around a £10 whcih I replace it with my normal LNB and then just buy an HD box off ebay....Would this be a better option?

Many Thanks for ur posts....:-D

Remember that you still have to pay an extra £10 a month subsription for HD channels. I really do not think its worth it, the prices need to come down a lot more yet.

i heard Microsoft is launching its own HDTV service via XBOX live on the Xbox 360 by the end of the year.

ITV don't have an HD channel, they did a short test last year on NTL, but it no longer broadcasts, and they haven't said that it will broadcast on Freesat, niether has BBCHD for that matter.
