Sky HD. Any good deals now or upcoming.

Found 2nd Jan 2009
Hi. As the title suggests does anyone know of any good deals or how to go about getting one. I cant use the old "I will move to Virgin" as it is not in my area.
Any help would be gratefully received.
Also is it true my existing sky plus box is mine to keep.
Thanks.

I used the "just bought a new TV with built in HD Freeview" and I want to cancel. They offered me Sky HD for a one off fee of £49.00 and £10.00 per month subscription. I already have the full subscription package and multiroom so for them losing my custom was quite a loss. Anyway you could give it a try, hope you get the same deal.

Regards and Happy new Year.

I called them u last week and they wanted £199.00 plus upto 6 weeks fitting!!! lol...

So i just told them i was to cancel and they offered it @ £99.00 one of payment.. (plus the £10.00 a month)...

Exisitng customers installtion dates are later than NEW customers...

I think by the end of Jan the prioce will fall again...

Thank you for your advice. I think the way existing customers get treated is ridiculous.

This is also a possibility, especially if there are 2 of you in the same household. I know a neighbour of mine tried this, and eventually they agreed just to give them the deal as it was going to cost too much to cancel and then set up new accounts etc.

I am with you on this one - surely keeping existing customers is more important than new, especially now with so many companies folding.

There is a long wait for installation, I ordered on 19th November and they are coming to install on 11th Jan. I tried to get an earlier date but there is no chance.

Cost me £99 plus £60 installation with £15 Quidco tracked

This is the deal they are currently promoting. Gonna go for it. Just hope it is worth it.

I called them up on Tuesday and after getting all the sales speech on Virgin's HD not having the channels etc I eventually got it for £99 with a £30 rebate off my next bill and free installation so effectively £69.

I probably could have gone through with my cancellation and waited to see if retentions called me with a better offer but didnt want to risk it. Also you have 30 days to change your mind and my install is now booked in for 22nd Jan so if I start seeing cheaper deals I'll argue it out.

Forgot to mention the Sky+ box (and even the HD box) is your own to do what you want with it so you can sell it on and make some cash back.
