    SKY HELP ADVICE REGARDING MULTI ROOM AND LOSING SIGNAL OUT OF WARRANTY

    Basically, i cant receive anything other than sky or pure freeview. my dish is donkeys years old and they guy who put multi room and sky + wouldnt change it just over year ago. i cant even get movies on the old box, and the signal keeps going on both systems as it suits. what can i do to get a decent working system without having to pay a ridiculous service fee and upgrade costs, etc.
    also how does sky freeview work if disconnect it all, as fed up getting no signal received messages. is it a dif card, or how do i pay for it through sky.

    If it was about year ago your contract must nearly be up, if so just sign up as a new customer but remove the dish from the wall. They'll then charge £30 to come round and fit a new dish.

    I had a similar problem not so long ago. Sky wanted a fee (around £70) for an engineer to come round but after I threatened to cancel they sent an engineer round next day for free and replaced everything.

    Yes ...No problem don't tell them why just cancel the subscription and then tell them why when they ask. They will be round within 2 days with a new dish...Good Luck

    gr8 didnt think they would do that. will give it a try. was waiting on the new sky cards first to see if that made any difference but it didnt.

    phone line to dishes rubbish too, but dont buy anything off it anyhow. so need the whole lot sorted.

    Aaarrghhhh! These monkeys are NOT engineers! You need to study hard to be one of those - not go on a 1/2 day training course!

    I mean't they will be round to fix any of it although I did mention the dish wrongly :thumbsup:

    Bodge it and scarper.;-)

    Just go through to Sky Cancellations/retentions and sound serious about cancelling, Sky will sort it eventually.

    i know but they always ask if its in and into the box which it isnt, i guess its a big brother thing.

    gonna try anyhow, as costing me fortune for little signal. pity cant get cable etc esp as looking at the o2 mast on the hill in front of me. grrr
