Hello,
I am getting the sky+ box as part of the introduce a friend scheme. But sky are charging £60 for installation whereas the friend got his for £30. I would have thought Sky would do it for free as I am an existing customer. Has anyone had similar issues and is there a way out of this or paying less or getting it installwed for free?

Sky are VERY unflair when it comes to charging. I am on the very baic package, however was offered sky+ for free (no installation charge). My boyfriend however has ALL the channels and phone/broadband with sky and they will not budge on giving him the same deal, only free box £60 installation.

Swines!

its quite easy to install yourself? tell them just to send box and you will do it yourself!!

get someone else in the family to register and cancel the old one. Free installation and sky + box

Hi,
Ok can you give details how to install then sky+ box, then I can try to install it myself when it arrives.

thanks

not sure you can install it yourself as they have to upgrade part of the dish. I think it is the LNB?

Anyway, I spoke at length with them a few months ago and got it for free. The woman was frank and seemed really helpful. I got it for free, almost in the end.

Basically say you will cancel as you have seen Virgins product blah blah.

She said they used to be able to offer sky plus installation for free, but the system had changed and the only package which allowed them to offer a freebie was movies/sport. I only had the channel mixes. I spent quite a while exploring the avenues with her, and she said she could add the movies package and would be able to offer it free. Of course I didn't want to spend £££s on that subscription but she said I can cancel them after a month, you are not tied in for a year.

The only way around it I could get, and no I did not cancel the movies! Three months in I phoned to cancel them and they offered them for £3 a month for 3 months so I have taken that given it is Christmas

Hope that helps and you manage to get it sorted for free. :santa:
