so you are confirming that I dont need an arial connection at all???
    Thanks

as long as you have scart connections on the tvs it will be fine
mine is plugged straight into the sky box and the reciever into the tv and bingo!

The magic eye is a tool for watching sky in another room, but with the added bonus of being able to chang.

It requires a cabled connection from your sky box to the 2nd required TV, so this may prove a problem to you.

Also available on the market is a wireless sender. This has the same functionality as far as im aware, however is totally wireless.

I use a magic eye and dont get any problems. Picture quality is a bit worse than at source (I get faint wavy lines) however if it means I can watch in different rooms im not fussy.

    Hope this helps

So you set the channel you what to watch on Sky and you can then watch it in any other room..?

yes thats right, you can also set it up to work with the remote control in another room but i have never bothered, you get a little infra red button thing with the senders that you use in another room with your remote to change channel etc

Can anyone recommend a wireless sender that has good picture quality (also needs to have IR control function)?

    Thanks

hasnt anyone experienced the poor quality I have got with every attempt using these?

I have tried the expensive ones and cheap ones and always get some sort of interference with them.

Both with a bungalow so no issues with distance.

Will these work with a sky + box and do you have to watch the same channel in every room?

They work with any box (inc Sky+) - plug the transmitter in the Sky box & the receiver in as many TV's as you like. You have to watch whatever channel is on the Sky box on every TV though.

Would work great for me as I confiscate the main TV downstairs for my Xbox, and send the mrs upstairs to watch her programs

I need a recommendation though, as like mentioned before, I've never seen a review of one that works without interference.

The wireless senders do cause interference with wireless router signals. So if your using wireless for any connections in your house from your router, I suggest you avoid these as the interference they cause is beyond belief. Also, as mentioned already, they barely work.

I think they work good in isolated areas where there are no signals from any other device. Unless you live in a detached house in the middle of a field though, your always going to get some sort of interference which does ruin the quality of the senders picture.

dont experience any inteference with mine, you have 4 seperate channels to choose from if you find theres any inteference

First i have heard about these, hope you don't mind if i nick into your thread quick and ask a couple of questions

Will the tv upstairs that will be receiving the signal need to be connected to an aerial?

Also with the TV downstairs (one with sky) can I have the sky box on but the tv turned off and still receive the channel upstairs?

    Thanks

no the recieving tv does not need to be connected to an aeriel
and yes you can have the sky box on but the tv off and view on your recieving tv

buy one from argos ]http//ww…%3E if it does not work take it back (top one excluded tho so be carefull ) mine had all sorts of interference from microwaves to wireless routers, also to get back to the origional question , cant you use the 2nd output on the sky box and run a length of cable into the kitchen you would get a better result

Thank you for the reply, rep left

Wiring the 2 is not an option so I will have to do it wirelessly, I don't suppose you could recommend a good one? I don't really know where to look! Thanks a lot, its appreciated

Edit: Ding, is that the kind of thing I'm after then?

Ohh I have been thinking about getting one of these so thanks OP and all the other advice

have the technika ones and find they do a great job,in fact i cant recommend them enough and i have a wireless network running and dont experience any inteference at all,in fact my pictures on all tv's are crystal clear, you can see the reciever just balancing on top of the tv,although you can pop it almost anywhere you want!

Ding, thanks for this. It would be better but I want to completely avoid running long wires and have asked local shop to fit an aerial and they asked £150!!!
Having said that the idea of interference is daunting me. I am already in a very poor signal area and my broadband speed is very slow because we are over 10 miles from the exchange so dont want to cause any more probs with the wireless
I wll probabily buy a set from a shop where I can return with no quibbles so if it doesnt work nothing is lost!

300249468523 cheaper here but reconditioned units

    Thanks a lot

amazon have plenty not easy to return tho ]http//ww…=19

You can pick them up from Maplins, I ordered a set months ago when they were reduced.
