sky multiroom + second feed question

any one know how much is its for sky multi room?
and how much it would be to get a second feed added from a communal dish from sky?

we was looking to get sky plus but going to go threw that recommend a friend deal
and then get sky plus that way then get multi room added so we can have two boxes
any one know how much this all costs

we have sky package all bar movies sports, bb max + unlimited calls and normal sky box.

Do we have to pay for sky plus?
Do we have to pay for two boxes for multi room or 1 thats extra?
How much is it for a feed to be added?

did have a look on the sky website but didn't see much

    Initial Costs:
    SkyHD: £49
    Sky Multiroom x2 = Free (I think)

    Monthly costs:
    Sky 6mix+ Sports + Movies = £47.50
    SkyHD monthly: £9.75
    Over 12months total: £570 + £117 = £687

    £687 montly + £49 initial = £736

£95 quidco, £50 Tesco vouchers that makes it just under £600.

Now for multirooms, where the 1st box is free for standard box (no mention or option of subsequent boxes on online order) they offer Sky+ for £99 and SkyHD for £200

Personally I'd get standard boxes and look for 2nd hand Sky+ boxes, so that you can call Sky, have the new box attached to that multirooms viewing card and have a DVR on all your Sky TVs, if you want SkyHD more than once it means paying SkyHD extra subscription more than once.

Ignore most of the above, cos it's not really relevant to what you're asking.

Multiroom works out at £10 (currently £9.75 due to lower VAT) per month, per box, so if you had two additional boxes you'd straight away be looking at an extra £20 per month. You'd have to check with them on installtion costs, as I don't think installation charges differ for flats/apartments (which I imagine this is with there being a communal dish).

Also, what the poster above is stating about having normal Sky boxes and then replacing them with 2nd hand Sky+ boxes wouldn't work, as you'd only have one feed going to each of these boxes so would only be able to record what you are watching.

You best bet would be to phone Sky really, as with it being a communal dish there might be a limit to the number of feeds they can put on it (I don't know if you can get more than an octo lnb).

AH yes, Sky+ boxes need double feeds, soz, forgot about that

i might email them and ask to see how much it would cost

best just ring them up but if you're wanting a mutliroom in YOUR apartment/flat, why not just get the feeder cable (cioax) and link your Sky Box to your bedroom TV (unless of course, 2 people wanted to watch to different channels at once!)

yes different channels and beable to record one and watch another

If it is a communal dish you would need to see about getting a second feed from your management company. If it is full capacity you might be out of luck.

Also, dependant on the number of properties served by the single dish, it could well be running via a complex distribution system.

Management company is your best place to call.
