Sky has confirmed that its Sky Player internet catch-up service will launch on Xbox 360 on 27 October.

The date had previously leaked in Sky's own magazine but the company had refused to confirm this until now.

While you don't need to subscribe to Sky's satellite service you will require Xbox Live gold membership as well as pay an additional fee to access content.

The Sky Player will allow access to programmes on Sky's channels as well as live streaming.

European Xbox community manager Graeme Boyd revealed the launch date on Twitter: "October 27 - that's the date when you'll be able to watch TV from Sky on your Xbox 360. Channel line-up and pricing to come at launch

Sounds interesting....

dunno but this means wave 4 games :-(

Yes! They've finally announced a release date.

I'm guessing as I subscribe to Sky and its sports and movie channels, I won't have to pay any additional fees?

I still suspect existing sky subscribers won't get this for nothing. You currentley only get sky player for free if you have broadband max or multi room. You get sky sports news and sky news for nothing

They are already here anyway. (Cars race-o-rama is just one of them)

Forza 3 is a two disc job (thankfully not wave 4, cant be doing with the swap disc style job it would need)
