Hi,
Im currently with aol broadband and thinking of switching to sky to get all bills in 1 place.....plus they are doing 6 moths free saving £60 and possible £50 quidco.
I have read that you have to use the sky router they supply and wondering if anyone else has used this and what the wireless connection is like?
We have a samsung nc10 and a macbook pro and wireless printer in the house.
Cheers

The connections fine for me, Used to have Homehub 2 with BT and my current pc had trouble connecting to that one, However with sky router it connects very well.

The routers are made by Sagem

I've had terrible trouble with them I'm afraid. I too was with AOL and decided to change phone, broadband and get TV with SKY on the 18th Dec.
My phone was supposed to go live on 13th Jan but they couldn't connect me and after £11 worth of mobile calls to them, they got it running on the 19th. I then had to call to get my broadband activated and the router sent out only to be told 2 wks ago that they were having probs at the exchange (same excuse as the phone!) and they had 30 days from the day I called them to activate it to get me connected. The only reason I'm online now is because we are bumping off of someone else's router! AVOID!!!!!

Wow, Sounds bad, My experience with them has been good, No problems whatsoever, Theirs always going to be the odd problems.

I've 2 macs a printer and 2 pc's working wirelessly off my sky broadband, its a netgear router though, not sagem. I've had no problems in the last year at all, before that I did have some intermittent connection problems.

Thanks for the reply's,rep given.
I have herd a few bad stories but i had sky broadband at my old place a couple of years ago and seemed fine, plus i will also be able to watch sky via my xbox which will come in handy if the other half is hogging the tv with a load of rubbish!!
Might flip a coin and to decide!!

my Sky broadband is O.K , no major problems except i've just had to switch to unlimited, I thought I was a low usage but sky shows 12-13gb per month (limit is 10gb) never mind I now get 6 months free.
my router is also Netgear.
